Meet the Team

Owner

Maureen Ackroyd opened Toad Hall Nursery in January 1995. She is married with three children, Catherine, David and Rachel. When Catherine was a young child, her ambition was to work with children; when she had the opportunity in 1994 to start a business. Maureen investigated the possibility of starting a nursery and it soon became apparent that there was a high demand for more nurseries in the Wokingham area.

Maureen was lucky to acquire the property and even more fortunate to receive planning permission. Toad Hall Nursery opened in January, 1995 (named after the toads that inhabit the site). Since then the nursery has expanded over the years in an attempt to accommodate the many children wishing to join us. Toad Hall Nursery is now registered for a total of 122 children.
